Saw this little video on YouTube and couldn't resist sharing it. It made me think about how I learned to walk in high heels. Ever since I was a little girl I can remember putting on dress up shoes and wanting to be older. Heels represented being mature and stylish. Learning to walk in them successfully was another story.
Seems I was always a bit klutzy as long as I can remember. My most prize moment in a pair of heels was walking arm in arm with a good friend and colleague of mine at an evening work event. Had we not been walking so close together, I may not have been able to save myself....I put too much weight back on my right heel, just on the corner and down I went. Thank goodness for beer in other hand, strong left leg and colleague on right side - because I was able to pop right back up before hitting the floor. The only embarrassing part is that it was right in front of my boss. Luckily, I think he enjoyed my imbalance and well, the shoes.
I was wearing a pair of old Candies style wood base shoes with very sparkly (is that a word) uppers. Thank you Steve Madden! This certainly wasn't when I learned to walk in heels, but taught me at business events to walk just a little more structured than carefree.
So....When did you learn to walk in heels?
Never, and I hope to not to, but welcome to the blogosphere, Apryl!
